MOR is the new Oldham-type flexible coupling series ideally suited for integration into stepping motors, general-purpose motors and rotating shafts in general. The spacer's and hub's new design allows to reduce the overall foot-print while widening the bores selection and increasing the rated torque at the same time. The spacer, in hard polyacetal for good mechanical characteristics and resistance to wear, fatigue and chemicals, affords a new projection structure which allows larger lateral and angular misalignment to be effortlessly accepted since the projection acts as a support. Thus the bending moment does not arise and the allowable angular misalignment is increased up to 3° (instead of 1° - 1.5° in comparable models). After running-in operation, the slipping load becomes very small, the eccentric reaction force generated by the misalignment lowers and the burden on the shaft is reduced. Further advantages arise from the new design. MOR's torque is significantly higher in comparison with conventional resin spacer Oldham-type couplings and up to 160 Nm. In addition MOR is able to excellently absorb the vibrations since the amplitude under natural frequency is low. As far as the bore diameters is concerned, the small size does not prevent the allowable bore selection from being very wide and rather increased next to comparable models. For example the setscrew type MOR-20 model boasts a huge 4 to 12 mm (0.16” to 0.47”) diameter range in a compact structure featuring a 20 mm (0.79”) outer diameter and a 21.4 mm (0.84”) overall length. MOR can be ordered with different bore diameters at hubs. Furthermore, it is electrically insulated (up to 20 kV) in order to preserve the integrity of the unit from damages due to eddy currents. MOR series is available in the range from 6 to 68 mm (0.24” to 2.68”) outer diameter and 1 to 38 mm (0.039” to 1.5”) bore diameter, with setscrew type, clamping type, key type and clamping + key type hubs. The allowable operating temperature is between -20°C and +80°C (-4°F +176°F).
