Lika Electronic keeps on expanding today its growing family of analogue encoders launching the versatile AS/AM58 A series. A comprehensive range of singleturn and multiturn encoders offered in a very wide variety of mechanical and electrical configurations to respond to the most diverse of analogue requirements in a cost effective manner. The complete series for your analogue needs AS/AM58 A series comes along with twin EM58 PA fully programmable absolute analogue encoder introduced just last month (see our July's newsletter at The new line of analogue products surpasses previous series adding both mechanical benefits and functional advantages in a full range of straightforward solutions to suit multiple requirements. AS/AM58 A encoders afford standard 58-mm flange diameter housing with high IP67 protection rate (IP65 on shaft side) in both hollow (Ø 14, 15 mm) and solid (Ø 6, 8, 9.52, 10, 11, 12 mm) shaft versions. New circuitry also allowed for a more compact housing and a very slim profile (only 48 mm deep!). A great variety of mounting configurations is available for quick, safe and low-cost installation in your any applications. AS/AM58 A encoders boast a 12-bit singleturn resolution and up to 16384 turns in the multiturn version for an overall max 16-bit resolution (65536 information). The new improved hardware and software architecture further provides an enhanced range of voltage and current outputs: 0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, -5 to +5V, -10 to +10V, 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA and 0 to 24mA. Complementary and Zero-setting inputs are supplied standard along with the Fault output intended to warn against a circuit interruption (current output versions only). A further noteworthy benefit is the TEACH-IN function: a special version includes two START-STOP buttons located on the external enclosure, designed to easily programme the axis travel through the setting of the initial (start) and the final (stop) position. AS/AM58 A series employs optical technology and does not require batteries. Flexibility is further emphasized by the variety of output connections available: M23 12-pin and M12 8-pin connectors as well as cable output. They are all offered in both radial and axial configurations. In addition, MIL 7-pin connector can be supplied for spare parts and compatibility with old models. AS/AM58 A series is suitable for installation in a variety of industrial applications and finds typical use, just to give a mere cross section, in construction vehicles, construction equipment, building material machines, cranes, portal cranes and hoists. Furthermore it achieves successful integration into cable pulling mechanisms such as in recently unveiled SF- series (see our June's newsletter at The analogue solution for your heavy-duty installations To complement its extensive line of analogue encoders, Lika Electronic has recently launched an updated version of the MH58S singleturn absolute encoder. This heavy-duty model is specifically designed to cope with the toughest requirements in your analogue applications and is typically suitable for demanding wind turbine installations. It employs magnetic sensor technology and is able to handle extreme environmental conditions providing smooth, efficient and reliable operation and superb signal clarity. Featuring a rugged housing with 10-mm diam. solid shaft and revised overmoulded circuitry, MH58S encoder ensures an IP67-rated protection and unparalleled resistance to large temperature fluctuations (-40°C +85°C / -40°F +185°F). It is installed using special electrically insulated shaft couplings designed to reduce backlash to zero and absorb efficiently shock and vibration impacts; thus it can both withstand superior radial and axial shaft loadings and deal with mechanical tensions. It boasts a 12-bit singleturn resolution and a full range of voltage and current outputs: 0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, -5 to +5V, -10 to +10V, 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA and 0 to 24mA. M23 12-pin connector and cable output are both available. It is further equipped with a Preset button located on the external enclosure to ease zero setting procedure. MH58S encoder is also available with SSI interface and additional incremental output and integrated resolver.
