IT68 new incremental encoder from Lika Electronic is intended to specifically satisfy the requirements of all kinds of CNC machine tools; in particular it comes to perfectly replace the most popular machine tool encoder type in Asian and Japanese markets and a wide variety of spindle encoders used in such applications (see table below for a partial list). IT68 spindle encoder offers a rugged mechanical housing with standard 68-mm external diameter, square flange and 15-mm keyed shaft. The rough mechanical construction and selected components allow for installation in demanding and harsh environments suffering from oil, aggressive contaminants, heavy shaft loads and wide temperature variations. Unlike most competitors, it provides high IP66 protection rating and is claimed to withstand extended -40°C +100°C (-40°F +212°F) operating temperature range. Also from the electrical point of view, IT68 is designed to have the same characteristics as competitors. However it adds extra features and profitable advantages. First and foremost IT68 boasts a reliable optical technology suitable to endure critical applications and is able to provide resolutions in the whole range up to 10000 PPR (custom PPRs on request). Furthermore this accurate rotary encoder produces digital (square wave) signals with complementary and zero signals (AB0, /AB0) and supports a broad choice of incremental electrical interfaces such as NPN, PNP, Push-Pull, Line Driver and Universal circuit through the MIL 17-pin connector (others on request). The +5VDC ÷ +30VDC Universal circuit is a further remarkable benefit: this well-proven circuit is compatible with both Push-Pull and Line Driver circuits thus it ensures the highest interfaceability with subsequent electronics. The max. output frequency is up to 300 kHz. In addition outputs are protected against reverse polarity and short-circuit (providing the power voltage is connected properly).
