EM58 TA is the new absolute encoder with analogue signal outputs which adds a further benefit to the well-known technology and quality standards of Lika Electronic: it is very simple and user-friendly and easy to operate. It really requires just a few seconds in order to set up and best suit your specific installation. The core advantage is the new TEACH-IN procedure which is able to stunningly help your work and greatly ease the configuration. Two keys fitted in the rear of the enclosure (or two external inputs, as an alternative) allow you to simply define the linear or angular displacement of your application by setting the start and stop reference points of the measuring range. Thus the initial and final limits of the stroke are the minimum and maximum values of the analogue range respectively. That's all. It doesn't matter whether the displacement you need to measure is 1-, 25- or 99.5-revolution long, it will be scaled in the whole analogue range. Two LEDs next to the keys help during setting. EM58 TA offers a wide variety of both voltage and current analogue signals: 0 to 5V, 0 to 10V, -5 to +5V, -10 to +10V, 4 to 20mA, 0 to 24mA and 4 to 24mA. Further benefits include the OVERRUN function implemented in the 4-20mA encoder model. It operates as a limit switch and allows to detect an overtravel position by decreasing (to 3.6mA) or increasing (to 22mA) the output value beyond the analogue range. Anyway, in all models the signal level is kept low/high outside the set axis travel. Furthermore to warn against a circuit interruption a FAULT output is provided (current output models only). EM58 TA boasts a number of information up to 226 and a 16-bit analogue resolution, with ±0.02° accuracy. It employs optical technology, thus it is insensitive to magnetic fields and does not require batteries. Output connection can be either cable or M12 connector. Mechanically it affords standard 58-mm flange diameter housing with both hollow (Ø 14, 15 mm) and solid (Ø 6, 8, 9.52, 10, 11, 12 mm) shafts. Thanks to the high IP67 protection rate (IP65 at shaft) and the ability to withstand large temperature ranges (-25°C +85°C, -13°F +212°F) as well as high radial and axial shaft loads, EM58 TA is suitable for installation in industrial and even harsh applications and finds typical use in construction vehicles, utility vehicles, construction equipment, building material machines, cranes and hoists.
